A Training Curriculum Development on English Listening and Speaking for Privates in Company Subdivision, Student Department of Artillery School, Artillery Center, Pahonyothin Fort, Lop Buri Province
This research aimed to develop a training curriculum on English listening and speaking for privates in Company Subdivision, Student Department of Artillery School, Artillery Center, Pahonyothin Fort, Lop Buri Province. The sample was 20 of the first shift of willing conscripts (1/56). The instruments used were an interview form, a questionnaire form, an English listening and speaking ability test, and a survey of satisfaction toward the curriculum. The data were analysed to calculate percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and content analysis. The results indicated that 1) the curriculum was designed accordingly with the objectives and the army policy needing the troops to have knowledge in English language, which made this curriculum a suitable learning resource. 2) Users’ English listening and speaking abilities after using the training curriculum were higher at 0.05 level of statistical significance and the satisfaction toward the training curriculum was rated at a high level, and 3) the lesson plans were revised to make it concise according to the time assigned, but the main features were still remained.
