Abstract
In the ‘new normal’ of COVID-19, early childhood children’s well-being is crucial. These children require proper care and treatment to promote good health and safety. The COVID-19 pandemic has inevitably affected children’s health, quality of life, and safety. Amid high volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, early childhood children should be taken care of their physical, mental, social, and cognitive well-being in a holistic and balanced approach. In the 'new normal' circumstance, early childhood children's practices are different from usual to cope with unstable situations effectively. The practices consist of adult primary care in keeping self-healthy, regularly checking updates for the latest COVID-19 information, strengthening the mental health, and accepting the situation. Furthermore, primary practice for adults in taking care of early childhood children’s well-being is also included. The practice involves giving love, warmth, and appreciation, encouraging children to do their homework and activities by themselves, arranging play activities, managing children’s fears, anxiety, and insomnia, arranging relaxing activities, preparing and practicing physical health care, and teaching positive preventive practices of COVID-19 to children to cope with the pandemic. With the ‘new normal’ early childhood children’s well-being practices, children are safe physically, mentally, socially, and cognitively.
