The Effects of Learning Activities by Project Based Learning in Sound and Video Editing Course of Undergraduate Students

The purposes of this research were: (1) to study the process of learning by project based learning in Sound and Video Editing course of undergraduate students, (2) to study the learning achievement by project based learning in Sound and Video Editing course, and (3) to assess student’s satisfaction upon learning activities by project based learning in Sound and Video Editing course of undergraduate students. The samples were 25 undergraduate students majoring in Animation and Multimedia, Faculty of Science and Technology, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University who enrolled in the Sound and Video Editing course in the 1st semester of academic year 2016. These students were selected by purposive sampling. The research tools used in this study were: (1) learning activities by using project base learning, (2) achievement test, and (3) a 5-point rating scale questionnaire to examine satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed by mean, standard division and percentage. The research findings revealed that: (1) learning management process by project based learning in Sound and Video Editing course of undergraduate students consisted of 7 steps enabling learners to have knowledge, understanding, and skills for systematically producing video and sound. Besides, they could also realize and identify the problems and obstacles in teaching management, including solutions, (2) learning outcomes of project based learning showed that the students had an opportunity to search for information and practice. They were also able to participate in group discussion and present their work, which resulted in students thinking effectively. For learning achievement, the results were at average score of 62.98, and most of the students got higher scores than average, and (3) the satisfaction of the students with the learning activities by project based learning was at a high level.
