The Efficiency Validation of English Reading Comprehension Material Based on English Newspaper and Dictionary through Action Learning for Undergraduates at Dhonburi Rajabhat University and the Assessment of Their Learning Achievement

The purposes of this research were to validate the efficiency of the developed English reading comprehension material based on English newspapers and dictionaries through action learning for undergraduates at Dhonburi Rajabhat University based on 80/80 efficiency criteria and to assess the undergraduates learning achievement from using the developed material. The instrument employed in this research was an English reading comprehension post-test with 70 questions. The research sample of this study consisted of 156 undergraduate students studying in regular program at Dhonburi Rajabhat University and enrolled for the subject of English for Study Skills (0150103 and 0011104) in the 2nd semester 2016. The findings indicated that the efficiency of the developed material was at 82.16/81.25 which met the 80/80 criteria and implied that the developed material had a high efficiency. The overall post-test score was higher than that of pretest at the statistical significant level of 0.05.
