The Local Organizations’ Roles in Promoting Grilled Suckling Pig Product of Tambon TaKam, Amphoe Sampran,
Nakhon Pathom Province and Local Economic Development Guidelines for Propelling the Community’s Economy
The purposes of this research were to study: 1) the problems and needs of grilled suckling pig producers, 2) the local organizations’ roles in the promoting grilled suckling pig product, and 3) the local economic development guidelines for propelling the community’s economy. The instrument was a questionnaire. The samples were 26 entrepreneurs and local staff. The results showed that the grilled suckling pig producers required funding assistance from government rganizations for the labor cost in production process. In terms of marketing, problems in production capacity and volume were found. For the knowledge, most of the producers had problems using technology (website) for selling the product to promote marketing. In terms of the local organizations’ roles in promoting the product, it was found that the organizations in sub-district level was at moderate level, in district and province levels were at low level. For the local economic development guidelines for propelling the community’s economy, the researchers surveyed the opinions of the government organizations’ representatives and leaders in sub-district, district and province level toward the development of grilled suckling pig product and found that the guidelines for developing the community’s economy were in the same direction, which was to promote the grilled suckling pig to be the highlight community’s product to create market opportunities and develop the community’s product quality to meet quality standard.
