An Analysis of Factors Related to Active Ageing Preparation
Active ageing must be constantly prepared in terms of health, participation and security. The purposes of this research were: 1) to study levels of active ageing preparation; 2) to study implementation to promote active ageing; and 3) to analyze related factors in active ageing preparation. Questionnaires and interviews were used as a research instrument for collecting data from a sample group of 720 persons aged over 50 years old and 10 executives and personnel who worked with older persons in Bangkok and 4 provinces from 4 regions nationwide. This research found the following. 1) The level of active ageing preparation in the 3 above-mentioned aspects was satisfactory in terms of health, participation and security. 2) It was found that an ageing development plan should be an action plan, linked with implementation, that reduced restrictions on local budgets and promoted positive attitudes in society about the potential of active ageing. 3) Related factors in active ageing preparation in terms of health, participation and security comprised 4 factors: giving care during illness, level of education, monthly payment and average monthly income.
