A research project to alleviate poverty and strengthen immunity via the Sufficiency Economy

Abstract
The research aims to do the following. 1) Study and analyze the poverty of people in Khaosok Nongyai District, Chonburi province. 2) Learn the educational needs of the people in order to reduce poverty. 3) Study poverty sustainability. 4) Implement the poverty reduction process using research based on the concept of sufficiency economy. The population in this study were 364 people and local leaders in Khaosok Nongyai District, Chonburi province. Data collection was quantitative with a questionnaire and qualitative using a focus group. The research found the following. 1) Poverty in the district is at moderate levels. To tackle poverty, the government seeks to reduce the cost of farming, support of the provision of occupations, and provide training to educate the community in production of household friendly products. 3) Poverty reduction takes the form of expenditure reduction, both personal and family, gaining revenues by finding an extra profession, and professional training in project management to reduce expenses and increase revenue. There were several projects: 1. water and biological fermentation, 2. production of household appliances, and 3. plastic baskets.
