Students’ Attitudes Towards Praying : A Case Study Of Nakornnonwittaya 4 (Wat Bangphreak Naue) School, Sounyai Sub-District, Muang District,

Abstract
The purpose of this survey research was to study attitudes towards praying of students of Nakornnonwittaya 4 (Wat Bangphreak Naue) School, Sounyai Sub-district,Muang District, Nontaburi Province. The research populations were 325 grade 7 to 9 students of Nakornnonwittaya 4 (Wat Bangphreak Naue) School. 180 students were selected as the research sample. The instrument used for gathering data was Likert attitudescale. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test,one-way ANOVA, and LSD to compare differences between paired means. The indings showed that (1) the overall attitudes towards praying and regarding each aspect were at high level; motivation to pray, physical beneits, social beneits, mental beneits, and intellectual beneits, (2) students with different genders had the same level of attitudes towards praying in every aspect, (3) attitudes towards praying of students with different ages, educational levels, lifestyles, and parental occupations were signiicantly different at the 0.05 level in three aspects; social beneits, physical beneits, and intellectual beneits.Most students suggested that praying in Buddhism gives clarity and freshness to the mind and intellectual process. Thus, the students practice praying and meditation every day before going to bed.
